The Special Someone
I missed how it felt on after an exhausting day,
Wrapped up in your arms,
As the late night breeze,
Blew my hair and thoughts away.
I missed how it felt coming back to you,
Nuzzling my face against the soft skin,
While we drank to forget,
All the moments we weren’t together.
I missed the sleepless nights,
When we tossed and turned,
Unable to fall asleep,
All through the night.
I missed the moments,
When I hid my face and cried,
On nights of heartbreaks,
Unable to calm me down.
I missed the moments of joy,
When I exposed myself,
And you held me with tenderness,
As we snoozed every alarm for each other.
I missed how difficult it was,
To stay awake,
While I dreamt with my eyes open,
To be just with you.
I missed how you smelt,
Of detergent and fabric softeners,
Made up perfectly for a good night’s sleep,
Oh bed, how I missed you.
