Something Is Missing

Something feels missing,

Like there's a huge chunk of something,

Missing from my body, mind and soul,

I can feel the emptiness,

I can show you where it feels empty too -

Put your right hand on your chest,

Right over your rib cage,

In such a way that your palm is in the middle of your body,

This part where your hand rests is the sternum,

And underneath it, your heart,

That is beating right now,

In its own beautiful way,

You can feel it under your fingers.

I cannot feel it,

As if someone took it out,

And there's only this hollowness,

That stays,

For how long can I stay alive like this,

Without a heart like this.
