Love To The Point Of Invention
I came across a tweet last night, that highlighted this phrase "loving someone to the point of invention" and I felt moved, in a very soft, yet *this is going to change your perspective for life* kinda way.
Loving to the point of invention was something I never heard before. I'd heard, loving to the point of heartbreak or loving to the point of death, but invention and love?
The tweet included an example - that someone wanted to open a bakery just because they loved them. And with some digging on the internet, I found this:
and some more examples like the person who invented band-aids, Earle Dickinson, made it for his wife who got frequent cuts and burns while working in the kitchen.
Or, Alfredo Di Lelio, a restauranteur, cooked some pasta with Parmigiano cheese and lots of butter for his wife who has just delivered their baby.
Or, Shah Jahan, a Mughal Emperor, commissioned to build Taj Mahal, in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz.
And how, I, here, in 21st century, have something similar to these creators of history. I have the power to invent something out of love; and I have, written poems, scribbled rhymes to be a part of history; to be read by strangers years later, thinking about their loved ones while reading my words and maybe wondering about the one I invented a poetry for.
Yes, it's not Taj Mahal or band-aid, or gloves, or pasta, but it's poetry, and it's love, however it is and I have loved to the point of invention. I hope I continue to do that.
