Lonely Last Night

Writer's picture: GurditGurdit

I will remember these nights,

When the heart wants to talk,

And there's no one to listen,

So, I soothe it with songs,

That often cradle me to sleep.

As I keep thinking,

About nights spent talking with someone,

Sharing our deepest, darkest truths,

And revealing secrets to our own self,

More than to someone else.

And holding hands,

As moments pass by.

Holding each other,

As our hearts beat side by side.

And holding on to the conversations,

That I yearn and crave now.

And I will remember all of them,

All the nights spent talking to someone.

And all the ones too,

When I felt like the most lonely person of the universe.

It's a fine line between solitude and loneliness,

And I often cross it here and there,

Like the lonely last night.
