Hazy October Evening

Shining in the polluted sky,

Is the sliver of the moon,

I was in search of today and yesterday,

As it fades away minutes later,

In all the smoggy haze of the Earth.

Then from somewhere,

Creep up memories of an October long gone,

Lingering on my mind with proofs,

Of something I had my heart on,

Also reminding that it is infact tethered to a lifeless past,

With only memories on my mind everyday,

Like notes scribbled in the margins,

Of something I could forget,

How could I forget,

Even when I try to push myself away from,

The silences of the terrifying truth,

Wanting to be here,

As long as I can,

Because there is nowhere else I'm supposed to be.
