Chauth Ka Chaand

Folk songs, traditions and stories,

All admire the moon like a lover,

How I wish I could see it,

On the 17th of October.

I heard young girls talking,

About how pretty he looks,

Fair face, genuine smile,

Not a single crooked tooth.

Glows like gold,

Shines like silver,

Listens to poetries,

And takes messages to deliver.

Reigning beauty of the folk tales,

Glorious even today,

How I wish I could see the lover,

Shining in the Milky Way.
