Borders Of Home
Yet, again, disruption,
Of homes over politics,
Of people undeserving,
Of actions of others,
That cause heartbreaks and wars,
Unapologetically breaking homes,
Amidst crumbling hope, humanity and faith.
Wrote Borders Of Home back in August 2021 with a little hope that I would never have to write such a piece again, yet, today compells me to write about it because of this photograph.
There are some photographs that are meant to break your heart and this is one such moment that reminds us that we are so far away from this reality of the world. At this moment this kid is probably leaving his home and possibly his homeland disrupting everything in his life from this moment on. Love remains, though, in windows with dust during wars, in hearts with fear & hope, in prayers of mine. This is not just a displacement of power at the centre, it is a displacement of foundations that were laid by generations to call a place their home. This is not just shaking the foundations, it is uprooting everything that once claimed to be life.
